Benthic, Lord Captain Horace born December 5, 3062 - died December 16, 3229  A premiere naturalist and scientist, associated with the Exploration Society for the better part of his life.  Lord Benthic was the primary investigator of the Angelic Labyrinths on Absalom, and later became widely known for his scientific and philosophical musings on the Lazarus Ceiling.

Jones, Altair born unknown - died 2361 to 2369  This is the infamous Pirate of the Belt, the one name that is known in relationship to the pirates of Sol's Asteroid belt.  He is credited for a large amount of unity among the Belt pirates, and is believed to have had some financial backing, clandestinely, from the Amtech government.  He likely died sometime during the Mars blockade by the IMPF.  Rumors and legends of his survival, however, lasted for decades.

Kalliope Woman born unknown - died 11,900 years ago  Discovered in 2276 CE on the asteroid Kalliope, the Kalliope Woman was a member of the Lost Civilization, and one of the first concrete pieces of evidence indicating that culture's ancient existence.  Her discovery brought the theories regarding ancient and advanced civilizations to the forefront of public consciousness, and lent credence to the long standing tales of artifacts found on Mars, the Moon, and other Solar System bodies that were, in reality, artifacts from that ancient period.

Potswaine-Harris, Luther born August 28, 2857 - died 2981  Born into a rich Hegemony family, Potswaine-Harris quickly rose through the ranks of the Hegemony, serving at various times as ambassador and military leader.  In this latter role, he gained notoriety as an efficient means to quell Amashan uprisings and renegade Unity terrorist attacks.  However, he was always ruled by an unstable, xenophobic portion of his personality, and after he was elected to the position of Archon Primus began to act on this paranoia.  He alone established the driving force behind the collapse of the Hegemony and the rise of the Dominion, building on other, latent xenophobic fears in the already existing government.  however, he lead the Dominion into a state of fascism that ultimately lead to its own destruction, both through inner uprisings and outside rebellion.  He died, in the end, by tossing himself out of an airlock of Caprion Station, where the last of the Dominion hardliners had holed themselves up during the final days of the rebellion.  Claiming to be jumping into his God's arms, in the chaos of the fighting his decompressed body was not recovered, and burnt up in Earth's atmosphere several days later.

Sorenson, Saul born February 2, 1996 - died December 1, 2089  One of the first and most celebrated of the New Church Archon Primi, Sorenson had been an avid follow of the New Church from its first inception until his death.  Through his influence and skill, the Church became a major international presence, and he himself acted as ambassador several times to foreign nations.  He is most celebrated, however, for his role in the Sorenson Debates, which made the New Church wildly popular throughout the world.

What names are remembered in the annals of history, and why?  Whose faces have survived the ages?  There are those people that have made their mark in the history books, for good or ill, and no matter their contributions or their questionable actions, they have remained firmly entrenched in the popular mind.  What follows is a sampling of these people, those who have helped bring forth the League of Worlds, and our modern day culture.
